Nutrition and Dietetics

The major in nutrition and dietetics gives students a robust STEM education focused on foods and what they do for our bodies. The undergraduate major encompasses the Virginia Tech Didactic Program in Dietetics which is an ACEND-accredited program. After earning a DPD Verification Statement, students are eligible to apply to Dietetic Internship programs.

Upon successful internship completion, interns may sit for the national RD exam and become certified as RD/RDNs. While many students choose to pursue paths towards becoming a Registered Dietitian in this major, there are many career options including sports nutrition and other health professions.
